自幼生活无忧的肖扬（郭家铭饰）来德国留学。一踏上德意志的土地，生活就给他上了无情的一课，所有的钱在聚会时被铁哥们儿大宽（张念骅饰）偷走，自己则被房东许曼（张鹭饰）赶岀家门。祸不单行，远在上海的爸爸又因贪污受贿被公诉，严峻现实把身在异国的肖扬逼上自谋生路的绝境。历尽波折冷眼后，他终于谋得一份酒吧钢琴师的工作，免强过上温饱生活。房东许曼偶遇落魄的肖扬，重新收留了他。寄人篱下的肖扬开始了边打工边上学的留学生活，什么脏活累活都不计较，逐渐走向自力自强。就在这时，大宽故伎重演，把手伸向了许曼，在行为败露后，颓废的大宽想了结不堪的一生。关健时刻，同胞肖扬出现了......
